Global Hope is excited about a new opportunity to serve more children for Christ. In 2010, we began assisting supporters of the Kathryn E. Larsen Memorial Orphanage in Palakol, India with collection, accounting, and transfer of funds to support 20 beautiful Indian kids.
The Kathryn E. Larsen Memorial Orphanage is named after a longtime supporter of the orphanage. In the spring of 2010, Gayle Cranston, Mrs. Larsen’s daughter, and Rick Cranston, Mrs. Larsen’s grandson, approached Global Hope to explore if we could serve as a conduit to help improve the processing of donations to the orphanage. Global Hope is delighted to do this because the orphanage fits squarely within our mission to serve abandoned children around the world. We gave the Kathryn E Larsen Orphanage donors an easy way to donate, and ensure that their donations arrive in a frequent and streamlined manner.

On February 23rd 2011, despite significant travel challenges, Kirby Trapolino of Peace Gospel International in India visited the orphanage on our behalf and spent time with the children and Pastor K. Zakkariah, who directs the orphanage. Kirby told us that the orphanage is a Christ-centered home full of love for the kids. Kirby further said, “I thought Pastor Z and his family were precious, and the orphan children are having deep needs met there. Many improvements could be made with more funding that would vastly change the living conditions of the home.”
The question we are now asking is “what next?” We know God has orchestrated our relationships, but we do not presume to know what His ultimate plan is. So our prayer is that we will be faithful and allow Him to use us however He plans. This year, we hope to send a small scouting team of Global Hope volunteers to the orphanage to pave the way for mission teams to visit regularly. We already have a few people who have stepped up and offered to go. What a blessing it is to serve with such committed followers of Christ!
This opportunity to serve the kids in India is another reminder of how God is in control of everything. The connections and relationships that have “coincidentally” come together are nothing short of miraculous and evidence of God’s providence in all things.
