My name is Cristina Tamas, and I’m 11 years old. I was born with fetal alcoholic syndrome and lived with my parents until a social worker decided to place me in an orphanage because they could not care for me properly. I lived in the orphanage until 2001, when I was placed with Global Hope.
I have one brother named Marian, who I love very much. I can’t wait to meet my new colleagues in the first grade. I like to help Tante Ani and Tante Rodi in the kitchen. When I grow up I want to work in the garden.
Christina attended the “Sunshine School,” a local school certified in special education and run by Romanian Christian Enterprises (RCE), from 2004-2009 where she has made great progress. In the future, she will graduate to a vocational school where she can learn a trade or skill to help equip her for the future.
