My name is Simona. I’m 15 years old and I was born in Baia Mare. When my parents divorced I moved to Susag with four of my siblings. My father drank alcohol all the time and he abused us. So one day my older sister Rodica, and my aunt, went to the police and filed a complaint against my father. My siblings and I were taken to an orphanage called the “Family” foundation on Cibinului Street, where we stayed for almost two years. When I was seven years old, the “Family” foundation lost their sponsors and closed down. That’s when my sisters and I came to live at Global Hope. In 2001 I received two wonderful parents, Tata Roni and Mama Rodi, who I still live with now.
I go to the Baptist high school and I’m going into the 8th grade. Flavius Duma, who also lives with Global Hope and was abandoned by his mother, too, is my classmate. In the 9th grade I would like to go to the Art and Music high school where my sister Sanda studies, and I also want to be a singer like her. I know how to do a lot of things, but mostly I want to be a chef.
