My name is Lucian (Luci) Roman and I was born July 27, 1994 in Arad. I was born into a large family—I have 13 siblings—but we don’t live together as a family. Until I was five years old I lived with my brother Cristi in my mother’s house, but she couldn’t take care of us. In November of 1999 I was placed at the House of Hope. My life changed completely and I had everything I needed: food, toys, a place to play, a clean place to live… a completely new family. For 10 years I lived there with seven other children including my three brothers: Cristi, Simon and Vasi. I love it when the American mission teams come, especially the guys, and bring crafts and new toys. We go on little excursions with them and try to speak English.
I like sports. I spent 1st-4th grade at the gradeschool with an emphasis on sports. I was in the swimming class and I know how to swim very well. Now I’m in the 8th grade and I’m a little nervous about the exams I have to take to graduate to high school.
Since July, I’m living with a new family, the Micleas, along with my brother Simon. The Micleas have two more children, a boy and a girl, but they are married. I will probably go to the same school that they went to.
When I grow up I want to work with computers. I would also like to be a mechanic, I can repair my bicycle all by myself.
