These are wonderful and exciting times for the children of Spring Valley (Kenya) as they opened the year with a brand-new school, a new kitchen, a new lab, a new home science workshop and a new dining hall. The children now come to school very early in the morning enthusiastically and ready to learn. The staff and children are always smiling and the school is filled with a lot of laughter and happiness.  Pastor Stanley and tr. Alice are still completing a few items on the building project including decorating the school walls with some art, installing some of the lab equipment, rescuing some girls in the dorm 3 of the Talitha Koum building and placing furniture in the new dining hall.

Pastor Stanley has been working hard with the school carpenters to construct some dining chairs and tables for the dining hall and this was completed yesterday. The tables and chairs come in different sizes to accommodate the very little ones in baby class to the oldest children in grade 9 and high school. The students were even more excited yesterday when they got to enjoy their lunch and supper using the new dining tables and chairs. They were all smiles, and the meal was even more delicious for them as they sat down to enjoy it in the bright and airy room with nice furniture. This has done wonders for their self-esteem because most of the students come from one-room homes with no furniture, no indoor plumbing/toilets, and they sit on the floors in their homes to eat meals cooked outside using small charcoal stoves.  Pastor Stanley, tr. Alice, tr. Jesse and all the staff work very hard to motivate and uplift the children and change their mentality so that they can see they deserve good things, and they are worthy of God’s love.

The children of Spring Valley are very grateful for the new school and today the grade 8 students, wrote a thank you letter to pastor Stanley, Tr. Alice and tr. Jesse expressing their gratitude for their new classes and facility.
