We just wrapped up two great events and wanted to share with you the results.
“Seeds of Hope” Banquet: Global Hope’s 8th Annual Banquet held on May 5, 2018 at the Denver Athletic Club was a great success! Besides being thrilled to enjoy friends and games on the rooftop due to excellent weather, the program proved to be a wonderful display of why Global Hope does what it does. Teo, one of the first children in Romania who came to live in one of Global Hope’s home for children, was interviewed alongside Mama Rodi, who raised her at Ana’s House. Teo was three years old when she came to us, and today she is 22 years old getting ready to graduate from design school! It was fun to hear her perspective on life and the positive outlook she has for her future. She also brought about 20 pieces of art that showed what a talented artist she is (and we were able to auction them off to support the Romania project). We praise God for the trajectory of Teo’s life, which is moving in the best possible direction; a direction very different than if she had remained growing up in an orphanage. And, we’re happy that she was willing to share about her life with us!
Financially, the banquet was a success too. We met the $25,000 matching gift and exceeded it by about $20,000. That gave us a net gain of $70,000 the night of the banquet! Along with that, we have 21 new child sponsors to celebrate as well. A big thanks to everyone who made this event a success – from our volunteers, to our guests, to our speakers and to our musicians!
Lawnmower Event: Global Hope conducted three lawnmower maintenance clinics to help raise money for the cause. Through this event, we raised just over $8,000. That helps cover the cost of year-long care for 17 children! Thank you to everyone who supported this event – happy grass cutting!
SAVE THE DATE: Global Hope’s 5thAnnual Apple Cider Run is on Saturday, October 13th! Plan to join us for a fun run or walk at Westminster Promenade Terrace!
