The Global Hope “Sparking Hope and Healing Banquet” recently brought together supporters, and experts in a heartfelt gathering dedicated to the advancing mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being for orphaned and abandoned children in Romania, India and Kenya. This year’s event, themed Sparking a Path to Healing and a Journey to Bright Futures, highlighted the importance of holistic care—mind, body, and spirit—and showcased Global Hope’s unique Christ-centered approach.
The evening began with guests holding battery-operated candles, symbolizing the spark of hope Global Hope ignites in each child. This light represented a new path forward, marked by healing, compassion, and community. Through reflections on Global Hope’s distinctive care model, attendees gained insight into the organization’s commitment to comprehensive support that goes beyond traditional approaches.
In a highlight of the evening, video clips from Christine at the recent CCIH mental health conference in Kenya underscored Global Hope’s dedication to mental health awareness and training, providing a closer look at the organization’s mission to equip caregivers globally.
The banquet featured keynote speakers Dr. Jessica Pae and Dr. Debi Grebenik, both distinguished experts in mental health and resilience. Dr. Pae, a clinical psychologist, shared her insights on strengthening healing through a psychology and theology framework, captivating the audience with her dedication to fostering freedom, healing, and wholeness. Dr. Grebenik added depth with her extensive experience in trauma-informed care and child advocacy as well as her direct experience in trauma healing at Global Hope partner locations in Kenya. Debi inspired attendees with her commitment to restoring hope in vulnerable children through relationship and connection.
The Sparking Hope and Healing Banquet was a resounding success, bringing together a community united in the vision of brighter futures for all children Global Hope serves. Through activities centered on transformation and powerful advocacy, the event reaffirmed the strength of the Global Hope community in building a foundation of hope and healing for orphaned and abandoned children.
