It is a very busy school holiday here at Spring Valley because pastor Stanley and tr. Alice have begun the construction of brand new state of the art classrooms for the children of Spring Valley. The classrooms which are over 20yrs old were completely dilapidated and the wood used for most of the classrooms was wood donated by Parklands Baptist Church that was used for their original church in the 1940’s. The frame work of these classrooms, especially the wooden ones, was hanging by a thread and it was very possible for the wood that is over 70yrs old to collapse on the children.
The classes have been repaired over and over again due to flooding, poor frame work, old wood and building materials and pastor Stanley and tr. Alice just felt that it was time to take a step of faith and build new modern classrooms for the children that will include a staff room, a laboratory, a workshop, a new kitchen that will be smoke free, and classrooms that are modern and up to the current academic standard.
Pastor Stanley and tr. Alice feel that even though the children of Spring Valley come from poverty-stricken backgrounds they deserve to learn in modern classrooms and in a beautifully organized school just like other children in Kenya. Starting last week after the national exams pastor Stanley and tr. Alice took a step of faith and demolished all the classrooms and old school buildings and have already begun the foundation of the new classrooms. Pastor Stanley is hoping to complete the construction work by Christmas so that when the students begin their new school year in January they will find new classrooms to study in.
So far, the old classrooms have been demolished, the foundation work for the new classrooms and school building is well under way and the construction workers will be placing cement on the foundation stones and steel frameworks beginning tomorrow.
We will be posting regular updates of this massive building project that is taking place in Spring Valley and we request with humble hearts for your prayers as pastor Stanley and tr. Alice begin this building project for the children of Spring Valley. We also with a lot of humbleness request as the Lord leads you for some financial support as we continue with this building project so that the children of Spring Valley will be able to learn in beautiful modern classrooms with all the equipment and learning material required for the new school curriculum.
